Materials Handling

In today´s competitive markets, plant operators must be economic in their decisions to run plants more efficiently and at minimal cost. With environmental protection regulations getting tougher worldwide, the choice for dry ash handling systems is an investment in the future. Clyde Bergemann DRYCON and DRYCON Compact systems extract bottom ash from various boilers using a dry mechanical solution.

Dry systems have significant advantages for bottom ash handling within power generation, waste-to-energy, biomass plants and other industrial processes. There are considerable environmental and economic benefits in the case of new build projects and replacements of existing wet systems.

Clyde Bergemann DRYCON technology is used to convey and cool bottom ash by means of ambient air. It can be used under difficult operating conditions, such as extreme temperatures and strongly fluctuating quantities of bottom ash. Due to impact beams below the pan belt elements and special damping mechanisms, DRYCON can cope with large quantities of slag suddenly landing from a great height without affecting the robust equipment.

The DRYCON Compact system has a neat design, thus lower investment than the regular DRYCON, approx. 15-20 %. It can also be retrofitted into existing facilities where space is limited.

Our unique solutions pave the way towards a more sustainable future. DRYCON technology can save the equivalent of more than 170,000,000 litres of water per plant each year, compared to a wet system – water that could fill 70 Olympic swimming pools.
