German based Clyde Bergemann GmbH was able to secure maintenance contracts (service and spare parts) for the boiler cleaning equipment of RWE’s power plants Neurath, Gowerk, Fortuna Nord, Berrenrath and Frechen for the next five years. As of April 1st, 21 employees will ensure availability and optimisation of the systems 365 days a year.

The power plants use boiler cleaning equipment (sootblowers utilising steam or water), to remove ash deposits that occur from the combustion of coal. The seven units of Neurath power plant with a total output of 4,300 MW are equipped with 1,330 sootblowers. The four other, smaller plants apply in total 360 sootblowers for the cleaning of 10 units.

Clyde Bergemann has been working for 17 years as a reliable service provider in RWE power plants. The advantage for the customer lies in a contractually guaranteed availability of the sootblowers on a fixed budget basis without the need to stock spare parts. This combined with short reaction times 24/7 ensures to provide the best service support possible.

The key success factors for winning this order were a well established product know-how, expertise in process engineering and the reliability of the employees on site. The site technical support team consists of SCC (Security Certifikat Contractors) certified industrial mechanics, electronics and mechatronic technicians and ensures an excellent execution of the demanding tasks on site. Through continuously developing and improving the cleaning equipment the team delivers the optimal solution for all parties involved.

Clyde Bergemann has a renewal option for further three years at the end of the five-year period.
